We are a team of HR professionals, who combined have experience in nearly every industry. We are passionate about our craft and love finding ways to challenge and improve the traditional approach to HR. We seek to help our clients evolve with the ever-changing state of the economy and culture.
CARRIE HAS WORKED IN VARIOUS MARKET SEGMENTS INCLUDING THE TECH SPACE. SHE HAS PROVIDED SOLUTIONS FOR SMALL START-UPS, AND CREATED PROGRAMS FOR LARGE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS. AS AN AVID SURFER, CARRIE KNOWS THE VALUE OF EXPECTING THE UNEXPECTED.
DANIELLE HAS 10 YEARS OF MANAGEMENT, LEADERSHIP AND ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE. SHE HAS ASSISTED COMPANIES BY PARACHUTING IN DIAGNOSE AND CORRECT ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS TO MAKE PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS. DANIELLE BELIEVES IN THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING A TEAM PLAYER BOTH IN THE WORKPLACE AND ON THE SOCCER FIELD!
JANETTE IS AN EXPERIENCED MANAGER WITH A HISTORY OF WORKING IN THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT ARTS, FOOD INDUSTRIES AND FACILITIES MANAGEMENT WITH SOME OF TORONTO’S PREMIER PERFORMING ARTS AND SPORTS FACILITIES. JANETTE BRINGS EXPERIENCE IN COACHING, EVENT MANAGEMENT, MANAGEMENT, LEADERSHIP, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.
LEAH BRINGS PRACTICAL HR SOLUTIONS TO BUSINESS CHALLENGES OF ALL SIZES, ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A WIN-WIN FOR THE BUSINESS AND ITS EMPLOYEES. SHE LOVES WORKING WITH ORGANIZATIONS TO CREATE ENVIRONMENTS OF HIGH PERFORMANCE AND ENGAGEMENT. HER CAREER HAS SPANNED MULTIPLE SECTORS INCLUDING BANKING, SOCIAL MEDIA, CONSUMER PACKAGED GOODS, AND MANUFACTURING.
OUR ORIGIN STORY
Nimbus HR Solutions was founded by Carrie Thomas in October 2015. After a 20-year career of senior-level global experience providing HR and Human Capital solutions, ranging from start-ups to large corporations, Carrie started to reconsider traditional Human Resources. Through her experience creating programs for large financial institutions, supporting tech companies during periods of rapid change, and developing implemented solutions for small – mid-sized businesses spanning market segments, Carrie has been able to facilitate positive momentum and growth for several businesses.
In October 2015, Carrie created Nimbus HR Solutions Group. Nimbus HR Solutions Group offers a high-quality alternative to in-house Human Resources for compliance, infrastructure, operations, and strategy. Nimbus provides HR expertise to a wide range of businesses, organizations in flux, and those without an HR leader. In addition to on-demand support, we are able to jump in, assess an organization’s needs, and meet those needs. We aim to introduce Best Practice design and delivery of Human Capital services and solutions globally.

We believe it is critical to the success of any organization, regardless of size or structure, to go through a process of defining shared values. We found the exercise productive and enlightening. The outcome of our shared brainstorm session was not what we would have predicted individually. We now regularly go back to these values when making important decisions about our business. Our values represent “How we do what we do.”

AUTHENTICITY means being honest in all our dealings and not accepting the status quo. We do this by being accountable for our actions and transparent in all we do. We do this by not selling our clients what they don’t need. We work hard to build trust with each other and with our clients. At NIMBUS, it’s about being real and acting with integrity.
UNITY at NIMBUS means moving beyond lip service around collaboration and teamwork and striving for true unity, partnering with our clients and with each other. We engage with our clients and work together for solutions that will be meaningful across their company. We honour differences and take an inclusive approach in all we do. BALANCE means taking a mindful and healthy approach to decision making, growth, deliverables, workload and partnership. We believe in sharing the load; with each other and with our clients. We also understand that behind every success, there are a multitude of lessons learned (some people call these failures or mistakes).
CREATIVITY comes from honouring differences and uniqueness. Every company is unique. In meeting our clients where they’re at, we provide responsive and meaningful solutions that are unique and culturally aligned. Nimbus is continually evolving through innovation and learning.
JOY is how we approach life and work. We have an attitude of gratitude because we love what we do and we love who we get to partner with! We do it with humour and fun. We strive to share our joy with our clients.

Equally important in the evolution of our company was the creation of our Mission and our Vision. After much brainstorming and discussion, we finally realized that our Mission is quite simple:

We are endeavouring to displace and disrupt the status quo on how HR is practiced, from the ground up. All organizations, regardless of size or profit, deserve access to effective and meaningful Human Capital strategies. We want to inspire work systems and work places to be engaged, healthy, and productive. Being a work zombie doesn’t seem like fun.
Our Vision was crystal clear from the beginning; it was born in our pre-Nimbus days.
